Billy Hart and Janet Lawson offered a drum and voice performance honoring the tradition of free improviser Jeanne Lee and drummer Han Bennink and the music of John Coltrane.
Saulkrasti Jazz Festival and Camp of August ’08 in Latvia brought together an array of Internationally known artists, among them: drummer Billy Hart, vocal improviser Janet Lawson and drummer Steve Smith from the U.S.; reed player Charlie Miklin from Austria; bassist Hans Kaenzig from Switzerland; drummer Gulli Briem from Iceland; pianist Ferial Karamat Ali from the Amsterdam; singers Inga Berzina from Latvia, Annette Giesriegl from Austria and Norbert Gottschalk from Germany; and many others.
